Hi,

Earlier today I noticed a large-ish red sore just above the lower pectoral fin on my clown loach. It looks as though one of my catfish may have accidentally chewed on him... anyway, my main reason for posting is that I don't really know what to do about it. I have separated it from the rest of my fish in a separate container hanging off the side of the tank. Should I just leave it and see if the sore heals up on its own, or is there something else I can do to help the fish?
I've included a picture of my loach to give a fair idea. Unfortunately the quality isn't that great..

Just in case anyone knows how I can help my fish, its side has also started to get quite rounded.

U need to be careful what u medicate your clown with , they are scaleless fish and some medications WILL kill them , i would love to give some advice but I'm not sure to be honest.
if you have separated it you may be able to take it to the LFS and get his advice b4 it gets too out of hand, you may need to treat the whole tank if its some sort of disease though. if its just a war injury you might be able to just treat it with melfix or something like that , BUT as i said BE CAREFULL what u use

yeah i agree with wombat you will need to be carefull because it has no scales.
from what you have said i would recomend treating the whole tank with Primafix
i would still take the fish to your local fish seller for them to have a look at it because you will need to go there to get the prima fix. just make sure they don't try to sell you a chemical treatment like mytozin or the such.

hope it helps
